5th Annual Christmas Tree Blessing PR
We Will Serve Coordinates Delivery of more than 425 Christmas Trees to Orange County Families in Need
Organization will provide trees to families identified by local partner charities
Tustin, Calif. — Dec. 6, 2012 —On Saturday, December 8th, We Will Serve, a non-profit organization that enables parents and caregivers to provide their children with clothing and essential items throughout the year, will deliver more than 425 Christmas trees as part of its fifth annual Christmas Tree Blessing. We Will Serve will deliver trees to families identified by its partner charities including Children’s Bureau, Miracles for Kids, MIKA, Fristers and Colette’s
Children’s Home.
“We partner with We Will Serve to reach families in the community that would otherwise go without a Christmas tree – a vital visual reminder of this special time of year” said Eric Heard, men’s pastor at Mariners Church. “We are honored to be a part of this on-going outreach of the holiday spirit that brightens the lives of children.” added Denise Ristenpart, director of foster and at risk youth at
Mariners Church.
Trees are provided at no cost to families using funds raised by the organization and its primary sponsor, Mariners Church. Tree distribution begins on Saturday, December 8th at 9:00 a.m. with volunteers meeting at the church’s Irvine location for get delivery assignments.
“We Will Serve started the Christmas Tree Blessing in 2008 when it became clear that many of the families we served throughout the year with clothing and other necessities were going without Christmas trees,” said Josephine Sexton, founder and president of We Will Serve. “We love seeing the faces of the kids when we drop off their Christmas tree – they just light up! This is a time for celebration and we’re honored to help bring Christmas to these families.”
